Hello, I'm Hayrettin, and I bring over 22 years of experience as a System Administrator to the table. I embarked on this exciting journey with NCR Unix, SCO Unix,HP-UX 9.05, NT 3.51, and 4.0, and have since evolved with the industry. I played a pivotal role in migrating our corporate network to Active Directory with the release of Windows 2000, and I've set up and managed systems like Exchange Server and ISA Server along the way.
In my current role as the Director of System Operations and Business Continuity, I wear many hats. I ensure the uninterrupted operation of our systems, handle installations, report on availability metrics, navigate regulatory audits to facilitate our compliance, establish and manage disaster recovery centers, monitor systems, provide real-time intervention in case of issues, and lead a dedicated team that assists me in these endeavors. I also proactively introduce new systems, plan capacity, assess hardware needs, and maintain cohesion between various IT units.
To execute these responsibilities effectively, I've cultivated expertise in a wide array of areas, including Linux, Windows, SAN Storage, Dynatrace APM, Nagios and Zabbix monitoring architectures, disaster recovery, containerization, virtualization, server hardware, networking, data center design, Netbackup, Control-M, Vmware, Linux KVM, Nginx, Tomcat, Wordpress, MySQL, and more. My approachable nature and deep knowledge have made me a trusted resource within the team.
Beyond my IT career, I'm an enthusiast with diverse interests. I collect vintage IBM Thinkpad laptops, particularly models from the pre-2000 era. I have a passion for automobiles and own a modern classic. In my spare time, you'll often find me tinkering with it. I'm an avid sports fan, but I reserve my admiration for the absolute best. I followed Roger Federer's career from his high school days to his retirement, tracked the Brazilian Ronaldo in a similar fashion, and witnessed Yevgeny Plushenko's artistry in figure skating. I caught the last game Michael Jordan played against the Orlando Magic, where he scored an astonishing 45 points – a memorable experience. Later on, I became an ardent admirer of Messi, and when he's on the field, everything else takes a backseat.
I'm also a travel enthusiast and have had the privilege of exploring numerous European countries.
Thank you for taking the time to get to know me.
